Do Indians need a visa for Costa Rica?
Indian passport holders need a consular visa for Costa Rica unless they hold certain visas or residence permits, such as a valid multiple-entry US or Canadian visa. Stays for Indian visitors are up to 30 days and can be extended.
When you do not need a visa
You can enter without a visa if you hold one of the following:
- A valid US or Canadian visa that allows multiple entries
- A valid residence permit from the United States or Canada that allows multiple entries
- A residence permit from an EU country, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Norway or Switzerland that allows multiple entries or has at least 90 days of validity
These exemptions come from Costa Rica’s General Visa Guidelines. Confirm that your visa or permit qualifies with a Costa Rican consulate before you travel.
