Indian passport holders need a visa for Armenia. The Embassy of Armenia recommends the e-visa at evisa.mfa.am, processed in three working days. A visa on arrival is available only to Indians holding a valid visa or residence permit from the EU, Schengen area, USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, Gulf states and some others.
When you do not need a visa
You can enter without a visa if you hold one of the following:
- A residence permit from the USA, an EU or Schengen country or a Gulf state, valid for at least six months from entry: visa-free from 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2027, for up to 180 days in a year

Best Time to Visit Armenia
Armenia experiences four distinct seasons with a continental climate. Timing your visit can transform your experience:
- Spring (April to June): The countryside bursts into bloom with wildflowers covering the meadows around Mount Ararat. Temperatures range from 15-25C. Perfect for hiking in Dilijan National Park.
- Summer (July to August): Warm to hot at 25-35C in Yerevan, but cooler in the mountains. Peak season for sightseeing and visiting Lake Sevan. The Vardavar water festival in July is a unique cultural experience.
- Autumn (September to October): Harvest season with colorful foliage across the Caucasus mountains. Ideal for wine tours in Vayots Dzor region. Temperatures are pleasant at 15-28C.
- Winter (November to March): Cold with temperatures dropping to -5C to -15C in Yerevan and much colder in the mountains. Excellent for skiing in Tsaghkadzor. The festive season brings Christmas markets.
