Indian passport holders need a visa for Argentina unless they hold a valid US visa or Green Card. The tourist visa is free for Indian nationals under a bilateral agreement and allows up to 90 days. Since 28 August 2025, Indians with a valid US visa can enter as tourists without any Argentine visa.
When you do not need a visa
You can enter without a visa if you hold one of the following:
- A valid US visa of type B1/B2, B2, B1, J, O, P, E or H-1B, or a US Green Card, valid for at least 90 days from the date you enter (tourism only, up to 90 days)
A Schengen visa no longer gives access to Argentina’s electronic travel authorisation (AVE); that ended on 27 January 2020.

Documents required

- Passport valid for at least 6 months with 2 blank pages
- Completed visa application form
- Cover letter in Spanish explaining the purpose and length of the trip
- Employer letter, notarised and translated into Spanish
- Travel itinerary and round-trip flight reservation
- Hotel reservations or an invitation letter from a resident of Argentina
- Bank statements for 6 months with a balance certificate
- Income tax returns for 3 years and pay slips for 3 months
How to apply
Check whether you qualify for visa-free entry with a US visa or Green Card valid for at least 90 days from your entry date.
If not, complete the visa application form and prepare the documents below, with the translations the Embassy asks for.
Apply through the Embassy of Argentina in New Delhi, or the Consulate General in Mumbai if you live in its jurisdiction.
Collect your passport once the visa is issued.
