Do Indians need a visa for Cyprus?

Indian passport holders need a visa for Cyprus unless they already hold a valid double or multiple-entry Schengen visa, which Cyprus accepts for stays of up to 90 days. Otherwise, apply for a Cyprus short-stay visa through the High Commission in New Delhi.

When you do not need a visa

You can enter without a visa if you hold one of the following:

  • A valid double-entry or multiple-entry Schengen visa (category C)
  • A valid long-stay (category D) visa or residence permit from an EU member state (except Ireland) or a Schengen country

You must also hold a valid passport, be able to confirm the purpose of your trip and your accommodation, and have enough funds for your stay and return. The stay may not exceed 90 days in any 180-day period.

The High Commission states that the visa fee is paid in euros, in cash, and is not refunded if the visa is refused. Under a contract that began on 21 July 2026, VFS Global also accepts Cyprus visa applications in India for an extra service fee of €2.60 plus GST.

Documents required

The official source lists these documents:

  • Completed application form
  • Recent photograph: full frontal, light background
  • Passport with at least two blank pages, valid for at least three months after the visa expires and issued within the previous 10 years
  • Travel medical insurance with minimum cover of €30,000 for your whole stay
  • Proof of funds, such as bank statements for the last 6 months
  • Proof of your employment, studies or residence
  • Proof of accommodation, such as a hotel voucher, and a flight reservation
  • Invitation letter or employer letter, where applicable
  • For minors: written consent of both parents

How to apply

Check whether a Schengen visa or EU residence permit you already hold lets you enter without a Cyprus visa.

If you need a visa, book an appointment with the High Commission by email (delhi.consulate@mfa.gov.cy), or apply through a VFS Global centre for Cyprus.

Submit your documents, pay the fee and give your photograph and fingerprints at the appointment.

Apply within six months of your trip and no later than 15 calendar days before it starts. Online applications are not available.

Processing time

A maximum of 15 days; this can be extended to up to 45 days in individual cases.
